stylized infographic with same information as the postNovember is a month of gratitude. This November, we are thankful for our families, our health, and the little moments that make growing up so special. At Growing Healthy Together, we’re grateful for you, our incredible patients and families, and for the continued opportunity to help your children thrive!

GHT is now offering Saturday hours!

We are now open from 9 am to 12 pm most Saturdays for sick patient visits. Call or use the portal to make your Saturday appointment.

Open Enrollment Reminder

November marks open enrollment for many health insurance plans. It’s the perfect time to review your child’s coverage, update information, and make sure your pediatric visits, vaccines, and preventive care are included for 2026.

Tip: Bring your insurance card to each visit, and be sure to specify primary, secondary, etc., insurance plans for your little one. For questions about your plan, contact the member services number on the back of your insurance card.

Inclusivity at the Table

Thanksgiving and fall feasts are the perfect time to celebrate food and togetherness. Try building meals that include everyone, whether your child eats plant-based, gluten-free, or has food sensitivities.

Tip: Gamify healthy eating by encouraging your kids to prep a “rainbow plate.” The more colors from fruits and veggies, the more nutrients they get!

Healthy Treats for the Season

From classroom parties to family dinners, less healthy options add up fast. Opt for treats like baked apples with cinnamon, yogurt parfaits, or roasted pumpkin seeds. These are festive and fuel growing bodies with protein, fiber, and vitamins.

Tip: Prioritizing whole foods over processed foods is vital to growing healthy bodies!

Important November Dates

November Is American Diabetes Month

Let’s raise awareness about healthy blood sugar habits, even for little ones! Focus on whole grains, balanced snacks, and outdoor play to keep energy steady. If diabetes runs in your family, ask your provider about screening or prevention tips.

Open-Enrollment Begins Saturday, November 1st

Enroll in a Covered California Marketplace health plan between November 1, 2025, and January 31, 2026. During this time, you can apply for a new plan or switch your existing plan. If you miss the enrollment and don’t have a qualifying life event, you will have to wait until November 2026 to enroll.

Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday, November 2nd

Set clocks back an hour and help your child ease into the change by keeping bedtime routines calm and consistent.

Tip: Dim lights an hour before bed and avoid screens to support healthy sleep cycles.

Happy Birthday, America! Tuesday, November 4th

If you are in the office around November 4th, wish America a happy birthday!

Veterans Day Tuesday, November 11th

GHT is closed for Veterans Day. We are deeply grateful to the families and service members who protect and serve. Thank you to all our veterans and their families.

World Diabetes Day, Friday, November 14th

World Diabetes Day is a global awareness campaign that focuses on education, prevention, and awareness. This year’s theme is ‘Diabetes and the Workplace.’ Learn more at worlddiabetesday.org

U.S. Antibiotic Awareness Week November 18–24

Antibiotics can be life-saving, but only when needed. Most colds, coughs, and flu-like illnesses are viral, meaning antibiotics won’t help. Talk with your provider about when antibiotics are appropriate and how to prevent resistance.

Happy birthday, Jeannie!  Tuesday, November 25th

If you’re in the office around November 25th, wish Jeannie a happy birthday!

Thanksgiving Thursday, November 27th

GHT is closed Thursday (Nov. 27) and Friday (Nov. 28) for the Thanksgiving holiday. We will still be accessible via the Spruce Health app. Have a joyful holiday filled with gratitude, ya turkeys.

From all of us at Growing Healthy Together, thank you for being part of our community. Here’s to a month of health and gratitude!

Sincerely,

Your Team at GHT
