Berenice German – Office Manager
Berenice German is the Office Manager at Growing Healthy Together, where she keeps our clinic running smoothly behind the scenes. With a B.S. in Healthcare Administration from Cal State Long Beach, Berenice also brings hands-on experience as a Certified Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist. Her unique combination of administrative knowledge and clinical training makes her a powerful advocate for both staff and families.
At GHT, Berenice oversees daily operations and office management, ensuring every family’s experience is seamless from check-in to check-out. She’s committed to achieving overall patient satisfaction by actively listening to concerns and making sure each family receives the compassionate, high-quality care their children deserve.
Outside of work, Berenice enjoys beach days, hiking adventures, and discovering new places with her husband and their two-year-old son. She’s a coffee lover who cherishes making lasting memories with loved ones.
Karenia Quintero, MA – Lead Medical Assistant
Karenia has been a vital part of Growing Healthy Together since 2017! As our Lead Medical Assistant, she sets the tone for compassionate care and leads by example. She also has a certificate in billing and coding. Karenia always helps to ensure our patients receive the services they need with accuracy and care.
Karenia brings a fun, loving, and caring energy to every patient interaction, making families feel truly supported.
Outside of the clinic, she loves watching baseball (Go Dodgers!), spending time with her boys, hiking, babysitting, and sipping coffee. Karenia also has a deep love of pigs!
America Alvarado, MA – Medical Assistant & Inventory Coordinator
America has been an MA since 2017 and is currently pursuing her nursing degree. She’s a first-generation college student (she was the first in her family to graduate from high school and attend college) and a proud Long Beach native.
At GHT, she’s not only a skilled medical assistant but also manages inventory and supply ordering, ensuring our clinic runs smoothly.
America approaches patient care with transparency, understanding, and a sense of fun, helping kids and families feel at ease.
She fosters animals from the Long Beach Animal Shelter (including three rescue cats!) and enjoys national parks and live music in her free time.
Gabriela “Gaby” Martinez, MA – Medical Assistant, Referrals & Social Media Coordinator
Gaby has been an MA for 3 years, with experience in both pediatrics and adult care. She aspires to become an ultrasound tech!
At GHT, she coordinates referrals, assists in the back office, and manages our social media presence, keeping families informed and engaged.
Gaby brings positive energy and genuine kindness to her patient care and is known for always wearing a smile.
She enjoys trying new restaurants, running a book club (she loves romance novels!), spending time with family, and traveling. Gaby also loves spending time with her two sweet dogs, Bella and Camila.
Kylie Ambayec – Front Desk Receptionist
Kylie holds a B.S. in Human Services with a focus on mental health recovery and has four years of experience working with children with special needs.
At GHT, Kylie is often the first warm smile patients see, creating a safe and welcoming space for every family. She’s an active listener, valuing empathy and sharing her positive attitude.
Outside of work, she cares for young children (newborns to 2.5 years old) at her church. Kylie loves binge-watching her favorite shows (with hot cocoa year-round) and curling up with a great book. She lives in San Pedro with her family and two pups, Gypsy and Suki.
